Porquerolles

.
We got the boat to an island called Portquerolles on Sunday which is off the south coast opposite Hyères-les-Palmiers / Toulon. The wee island is only 7km long so we spent out time wandering, eating , drinking and tanning which turns out to be the perfect recipy for a Sunday in mid-May.

How do you like your eggs in the morning?

Et celle-là: "l'eau de mes nouilles coule le long de mes coudes," plusieurs fois rapidement svp. I like tongue twisters!

Todays tongue twister : "Trentatré Trentini entrarono a Trento, tutti e trentatré, trotterellando" (or in English "Thirty three Trentonians (people from Trento, an Italian city) came into Trento and all thirty three trotting.")

Last time

.
I'm back from Italy and rather than getting on with finding a job (I've now finished at the military school) I'm spending some time with Alice, Rach and her parents at Ensues La Redonne. Last time we were her was a hudge adventure but I'm kinda hoping for a drama-less week hehe, a girl can only have so much stress in her life.

Feline fear

People always give me a "are you a heartless monster who likes eating children for breakfast ..." kinda of look when I tell them I don't like cats. I can't help it. It's all Walt Disney's fault ... those two dam scary siamese beasts in Lady and the Tramp ... I'm getting shivers just thinking about them!

Solvenia

.
I didn't realise that where I am in Italy is soo close to Slovenia so when my friend said we were going on a shopping trip there I almost laughed in his face. But the joke was on me. 30 minutes later we had settled comfortably round a table in a Slovenian winery and were sampling the local brew. 45 minutes later we had bought 25 litres of wine for 23 euros. Thats like less that 1 euro for a litre ... water is more expensive that that ... why do I not live in Slovenia?

Sometimes when I finish a day with the kids I just want to crawl up in a ball, cry and wake up in England with good tea and as far away as pasta as possible. It can be fustrating and exhausting at times but moments like this make me realise how freaking great it all can be and that I don't want to be anywhere else in the world.

Plogia

I think I was a little premature posting about Birkenstocks as it has done nothing but rain and rain and rain and rain for 6 days straight in Italy. I don't understand how there can me that much water in the sky ;-) I miss my girls. "Home" in 1 week or so xx

Up and down

Billy Joel

"She can kill with a smile. She can wound with her eyes. She can ruin your faith with her casual lies. And she only reveals what she wants you to see. She hides like a child. But she's always a woman to me.

She can lead you to love. She can take you or leave you. She can ask for the truth. But she'll never believe you. And she'll take what you give her, as long as it's free. Yeah, she steals like a thief. But she's always a woman to me."
